Low-slope systems

The commercial systems Dakota lists — plus commercial K-style gutter. A commercial hail claim is still a claim, and they do both halves of that too.

Their claim

Dakota's own numbers about their corner of the market: ninety percent of flat roofs carry hail damage with coverage, and commercial flat roofers who actually know insurance are nearly nonexistent. Their answer is to write the commercial estimate in the carrier's own software, Xactimate, with local provisions and building codes included.

The rebuild

Their published complexity list for low-slope work: buildings older than the codes, roofs cambered into block walls that make removal structural work, hazardous old insulation and long-term-moisture mold, drainage that has to be created on minimal slopes, and fire code and insulation that must go in correctly. Getting the carrier on board matters because these are the costly items.

Do it once

By their own count they have removed and redone six nearly new flat roofs that were installed wrong and failed early. Their point stands without the sales pitch: a flat roof done outside code and spec is a roof you pay for twice.
